Hello, it is me again! Today, I would like to talk about my college- Erican College. I am currently taking diploma in mass communications in this college.

 First, let’s talk about why Erican College is my choice to study in. It is because the fees at here is much cheaper than other colleges. Erican college also provided full or partial scholarships to the students who did good in their academics and students in need. Second, this college is located in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur is the city centre of Malaysia. Erican college’ s campus is only a short distance from the famous Petronas Twin Towers and surrounded by many facilities that are convenient for the students. For example, students can go Suria KLCC for shopping when they have a long break between their classes.Also, Erican College’s campus is only walking distance from LRT station.

Erican college is founded in 1990. Erican College was built to serve the growing demand of tertiary qualifications, language and life skills in the industry and also within Malaysia .Datuk Eric Chong is the founder of Erican College. He is a popular entrepreneur, educationist, author, and success mentor. He is famous for his success mantra” If Eric can, so can you”. He thinks that education is the most precious thing that a child can be given. Datuk Eric Chong is the president of Branding Association of Malaysia. Erican College achieved the Malaysia Book of Records as “ The Largest English Class”. 

      

                 

The academic programmes in Erican College are divided into several categories. There are 5 categories which is School of Art& Design, School of IT and Technology, School of Management, School of Social Sciences and School of Tourism& Hospitality. Erican college also provided a preparatory course which is foundation in art. For instance, the courses that included in school of art& design are diploma in interior design and diploma in graphic design. The course that included in school of IT and technology is diploma in information technology. Next, the courses that included in school of management is diploma in business administration and diploma in accountancy. Then, the courses that included in school of social sciences are diploma in mass communication and diploma in psychology. Lastly, the courses that included in school of tourism& hospitality are diploma in culinary arts, diploma in hotel management, diploma in tourism management and certificate in airline cabin crew.

Even though Erican College is still new compared to other colleges, but the facilities in this college are complete. For example, lecture hall1,2,3, computer lab, library, student centre, media lab, graphic design lab, interior design lab and mass communication lab. The mass communication has many facilities such as radio station and some field cameras that are available for student use. I, as a mass communication student, think that it is very useful to me through these facilities in mass communication lab. 

I am one of the working committee in GBL camp batch 10.

    There are some attractive events that conducted by Erican College. First, the most attractive event is GBL camp. Many people may ask, what is GBL stands for? Actually GBL stands for “Go Beyond Limits”. The founder hopes us to go beyond our limits and break through your mental boundaries. This camp is compulsory for all Erican students.Every student is required to participate in this GBL camp at least once. This camp will be held for two days and one night.GBL camp is divided into two categories, one is English version and another one is Chinese version. I thinks that this GBL camp is so meaningful to me. It because the camp is very interesting. This GBL camp also changed my mindset from negative to positive. It is because the founder of Erican College will give some talk to us, and spread the positive energy to all the students. There are many activities in this camp. For example, intimate sharing and thought provoking games. The purpose of GBL camp is to ensure that the students in Erican College understand the value and importance of believing in themselves and others. I would like to highly recommend my friends to join this camp. After this camp, I started to love this college.

Besides that, success forum is also one of the attractive event that conducted by Erican College. Success forum is a event that conducted by Erican College’s founder- Datuk Eric Chong monthly. Every student is required to participate in this event at least 8 to 10 times before they graduate. This success forum covered hours of invaluable success strategies culled from Datuk Eric Chong’s decades of experience as a successful entrepreneur and educationist, and also as the president of the Branding Association of Malaysia. The students in Erican College get to meet a outstanding person close and personal, and we called these people “ Erican Success Icons”. These success icons represent some of the most successful people in Asia. Until now, I have participated in this success forum for only once, and I am glad to meet Mr. Bryan Loo which is the founder of Tealive in Malaysia. Students in erican college can learn more about their future through this success forum.

In my opinion, Erican College is totally different compared to other colleges. It is because Erican College is more focus on the social activities of the students. Erican College not only encourage their students just study, study, and study to score in their academics whereas this college will held many different kind of activities for all Erican students.  In the other hand, Erican College will give Erican students a chance to held their events and promote it to all of the staffs and Erican students. This provide students with invaluable opportunities for leadership and learning.This is why I love Erican College. Erican college provides a vibrant and exciting campus life to me. Erican College ensures that all Erican students enjoy a variety of activities. 

In conclusion, I really hope that many students will join Erican College in the future. Erican College provide a really comfortable environment for all the students. Students in Erican College all are like a big family. Come and join our big family. I will stayed in this college for 2 more years and enjoy my college life with my bunch of friends. I am here to appeal to all the SPM students to choose our college for a successful and bright future! Come and join us to become one of the Ericanites!
